Now that you have decided to start In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment, the next step is to understand the IVF cost. You may want to get in touch with a clinic to find out about the pricing structure and available government-financing schemes. In this article, we hope to briefly share on the cost of IVF treatment for you to plan accordingly.
At our clinic, the average cost for one cycle of IVF treatment ranges from $13,000 to $19,000. This includes hormone stimulation, where medication is given to stimulate the growth of follicles until the stage of embryo transfer. The variation in costs between patients is because each patient has their own customised treatment protocol, different number of eggs retrieved and the addition of other procedures.
MediSave withdrawals and payment of difference
For Singaporeans or Permanent Residents, you can now utilise MediSave to better afford Assisted Conception Procedures (ACP). A couple may withdraw $6000 for the first cycle, $5000 for the second cycle and $4000 for the third and subsequent cycle onwards, with a lifetime MediSave withdrawal limit of $15,000 per couple. This may reduce the out-of-pocket payment for the IVF treatment cycle.
In terms of payment, you only need to pay the amount after deduction of MediSave claims for that cycle. You can also enquire about your MediSave balance at our centre. Our centre can submit claims on your behalf.
Financial Counselling
On your next visit to the clinic, there will be a financial counselling session where IVF procedure and IVF cost are explained in detail. Our staff are happy to assist you and answer any questions that you may have at this point.
